The first reports regarding the Cricket began to arise in the late 1980's on the campus of Indiana University (where, it's rumored, he first met brother-in-arms [[Keeferman]]). Otherwise indistinguishable from his fellow students, this exchange student with strikingly-exotic features was the personification of the Middle East to untold thousands of wide-eyed Midwesterners. His misadventures were infamous and sightings persisted for several years even after he'd graduated and left Bloomington behind.
