Origin and Powers
Kal-el was born on the planet Krypton to scientist parents who foresaw the end of their civilization. They packed him up in a rocketship and sent him to Earth before their red sun went 'nova. Kal-el was found by a kindly human couple, adopted by them, and raised as one of their own. Under our yellow sun the alien, now known as Clark Kent, was empowered with superstrength, superspeed, superhearing, x-ray vision, laser eyes, freeze-breath, flight, and invulnerability -except for Kryptonite (an inert ore whose radiations only seem to affect Superman).
History
Superman maintains a secret identity with a day job as a reporter for Metropolis' largest newspaper. He spends the rest of his time as the world's greatest superhero.
