Origins & History

The first reports regarding the Cricket began to arise in the late 1980's on the campus of Indiana University (where, it's rumored, he first met Keeferman). Nearly indistinguishable from his fellow students, this foreign exchange student was the personification of the Middle East to untold thousands of wide-eyed Midwesterners. His misadventures were infamous and sightings persisted for several years even after he'd graduated and left Bloomington. From the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, through the mid-nineties Defense of Sarajevo, to the Arab Spring of 2011, Cricket has been at the forefront of popular uprisings for a generation.

Fearless in Syria.

Dauntless in Algeria.

Audacious in Bosnia.

Reckless in Libya.

Cricket, the superhero, is shown in a 2005 photo introducing cricket, the sport, to the POTUS. When asked how the President did, the Cricket politely suggested: "I understand he's an excellent golfer."

Weapons & Armor

• Chirp: a cricket bat (actually a series of cricket bats) painted green with a white lightning bolt. Each is hand made by an anonymous (but assuredly world-renowned) bat-maker from the highest grade American willow (Salix americana).
• Kevlar chest protector, gloves, shinguards, helmet

Known Associates

Now enjoying semi-retirement, he teams up primarily with U.S.Mantis and the Ladybug whenever called-upon by world events.

The Cricket's athleticism and his service to Central Florida earned him a try-out at Tropicana Field (home of the Major League Tampa Bay Rays), but he never actually joined the team.
