Usage in Popular Culture

The interrobang is a single punctuation meant to take the place of two others. It is used in sentences that would normally end in both a question mark and an exclamation point. This includes sarcasm as well as incredulation. There are a number of ways to call it up in a document, including:

  • Via the Wingdings 2 font: the }] key.
  • HTML: & # 8 2 5 3 ;
  • Unicode: U+203D
  • Copying & pasting it from elsewhere.

The interrobang, while well-intentioned, might just be the most obnoxious punctuation.

Usage in Popular Superhero Culture

According to the chroniclers at Keeferman.net:

An interrobang is a form of punctuation. It's the best form really. Some say it's what gives Keeferman his power. It's a combination questionmark/exclamationpoint. These days it seems almost a secret. Keeferman is bringing it back though. All those sarcastic comments and facetious questions that you didn't know how to punctuate? They take the interrobang.
