History
Top Cow (headed by Marc Silvestri) (in partnership with Todd McFarlane Productions and Image Central among others) was founded in 1992 as an alternative to conventional publishing companies. It was initially comprised of artists and authors who split from one of "the Big Two" as part of a labor dispute.
