They really are incredible. And the movie was even more incredible.

Origin
We do not know how Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl came into their powers but, before the government shut them down, they had an illustrious career in crimefighting. Since then, they've been playing it quiet in suburbia as "Mr. and Mrs. Parr" -and they appear to have passed their gift along to their children Dash and Violet.
