Captain Sweden (aka Kapten Sverige) was, perhaps, the quintessential Swedish superhero.

Origin
Born Humphrey Tagelberg, he was a sickly man who was deferred from conscription into the military. He got a second chance, however, thanks to the Swedish Defence Research Establishment (aka Försvarets forskningsanstalt or FOA). Whenever he hears the mystical words "Du gamla, Du fria" ("Thou Ancient, Thou Free" being the de facto national anthem of Sweden), Humphrey undergoes a metamorphosis -becoming an icon of human physical perfection, capable of battling evil with just two fists. Cloaked in the yellow and blue of his homeland, Captain Sweden is the personification of truth, justice, loyalty, and generosity.
