With the fall of communism, the "Russian reverse" comedy gambit began to wane in power. This was a crushing blow to both Yakov Smirnoff and the Soviet Union. In post-Soviet Russia, superheroes save you. -Or so it is presumed despite state control of the media and a nearly complete blackout of superhero-related news.
