Sara Pezzini was a Homicide Detective with the NYPD. She was badly wounded in the line of duty and saved only by the power of the Witchblade. Since then she has been trying to learn it's purpose and powers. At one point the Witchblade was split and it's powers are now shared with another host, Danielle Baptiste.
